Found Causes "New View"

Rowing with Oklahoma Video Production

I edited this segment for our show, Found Causes, featuring New View, a job training and living assistance organization for the blind and visually impaired. Formerly the Oklahoma League for the Blind, New view is one of the largest contractors for the government where the employees are blind or visually impaired. In addition to employment and job training, New View provides assistance for those losing their sight or struggling with vision impairment. Help includes home visits, visual aid devices, and eyesight exercises. New View even has athletic programs including dance and rowing. Last, every summer, New View sponsors Owl Camp. Owl Camp is a camp for visually impaired children and teens. Each camper is paired with a fully-sighted buddy their age. Activities are held all through Oklahoma City including visits to museums, the zoo, and sports.

Found Causes "FACT"

Just the FACTS with Oklahoma Video Production

This is the segment I edited for our show Found Causes about FACT, the Oklahoma City Police Department's gang prevention unit. Located in the inner city, FACT is aimed at preventing youths from engaging in gangs. FACT provides them a safe place where police officers in street clothes can talk to them without the stigma of authority figures. Mentors help guide the kids into sticking with schools. FACT also engages in group role play so that kids can be prepared for when they may be approached by gangs and will know what to do to get out of that situation.

Found Causes "Sunset Therapeutic Riding Center"

Riding Off Into the Sunset with Oklahoma Video Production

This is from one of our recent episodes of Found Causes.  I did the cinematography for the opening of the piece and the color grading for the whole piece.

Sunset TRC utilizes horses to provide therapy for children with autism and physical handicaps. The horses's natural movements are great for children with mobility issues as the muscle movements of the horse help exercise the muscles in the kids. For kids with autism, it offers them a chance to communicate and participate in ways other therapies cannot.

I also got to run multiple cameras at once:

Found Causes "Deaconess Pregnancy & Adoption"

Creating Families with Oklahoma Video Production

This is the final segment from the first season of Found Causes. This episode marked the first time that I used Final Cut Pro X for both my segment and final assembly of the episode.

For almost 100 years, Deaconess has been working to build families in Oklahoma. Deaconess provides guidance to young women faced with an unexpected pregnancy. They provide emotional support as well as financial. For women considering giving up their child for adoption, they work to find a family looking to adopt that the mother can feel confident will provide the life their child deserves.

Found Causes "Neighborhood Service Organization"

Rebuilding Neighborhoods with Oklahoma Video Production

My edited segment from Found Causes Episode 10. Across from the historic Little Flower Church.  NSO has been fighting poverty in Oklahoma City since 1920. Just a stones throw from Downtown Oklahoma City, Neighborhood Service Organization provides job training, shelter, medical & dental assistance, and much more.

Two amazing services they offer is low cost shelter to single mothers who are working to get back on their feet. Apartments come fully furnished and when they are ready to move out on their own again, they get to keep the furniture. The other program addresses the needs of young men who age out of foster care when they turn 18. Many have been abandoned or have no family to turn to when they can no longer stay in foster care and many end up on the streets. NSO finds these boys and places them in an apartment complex providing them help with getting into college, finding jobs, and mentoring.

Found Causes "Homeless Alliance"

Fighting Homelessness with Oklahoma Video Production

My edit from Found Causes Episode 09.  For those fighting to get out of poverty, it's often a struggle to crisscross the city to get the help they need. That's why the people at Homeless Alliance worked to put all those services under one roof. Homeless Alliance has brought together many of the services groups and government agencies in Oklahoma City that the homeless and poor need to break their struggle with poverty or drugs. What might have been an impossible journey to recovery and help can now be done in one day and one location.
